Process Group
Are you looking for a therapy group where you can better understand yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that seem to follow you from one part of life to another? A process group offers a place to explore those patterns in real time with other people.
Rather than focusing primarily on advice or finding the “right answer,” much of the work happens through the experience of being in the group itself. Members have opportunities to notice how they relate to others, how others experience them, what happens when they feel close, disconnected, frustrated, uncertain, or vulnerable, and how these patterns may connect with experiences outside of the group.
The group provides a confidential and supportive environment to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, reactions, and ways of relating to others. Members are encouraged to speak openly and honestly, including when something feels uncomfortable, frustrating, confusing, or difficult to say.
When another member is struggling, the emphasis is less on giving advice and more on sharing your own reactions, experiences, questions, and similar struggles. This creates opportunities for members to receive honest feedback while also learning how they affect and are affected by other people.
Strong emotions and disagreements can naturally arise in a group. These moments can become valuable opportunities to practice expressing yourself directly, listening to others, setting boundaries, tolerating discomfort, and taking responsibility for your own experience without blaming or trying to change someone else.
There is no set agenda for the group. What members bring into the room each week becomes the material for the session. Part of the work is noticing what you choose to talk about, what you hold back, how you participate, and how your presence contributes to the development of the group.
The group is facilitated by Nathan Schlingmann, LPC, who provides structure and guidance while helping maintain an environment where members can communicate openly and safely.

Group Structure
The group is both supportive and therapeutic. Regular attendance and active participation are important because trust, connection, and meaningful therapeutic work develop over time.
Confidentiality is expected of every member, and clear interpersonal boundaries are maintained so that members can speak as freely and honestly as possible. Members agree not to share identifying information or the personal experiences of other group members outside of the group.
Because each person becomes an important part of the group, members are asked to discuss plans to leave at least three sessions before ending participation. This gives the group an opportunity to work through the ending together rather than having a member disappear unexpectedly.
Fee: $50 per session
If you are interested in joining, the first step is a conversation with Nate to learn more about the group, discuss what you are looking for, and determine whether the group feels like a good fit.
